VGGT Training in Benin, Burkina Faso, Kenya and Malawi
TMG organises training for partner organisations on the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests
The Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) set out principles and standards for responsible land governance and provide a framework for developing policies and programmes for improving food security. Now, a decade after the adoption of the VGGT, promoting responsible land governance is more urgent than ever due to the increasing pressure on natural resources.
TMG are therefore organising a training session on the VGGT to be hosted online and attended by participants from around 15 partner organisations from Benin, Burkina Faso, Kenya and Malawi. The training will discuss the opportunities created by the VGGT and to share ideas about how to strengthen their use and application. The session topics are (1) Understanding the concepts and basics of the VGGT; (2) Applying and implementing the VGGT; (3) The importance of monitoring in the implementation of the VGGT; (4) A guided discussion on the lessons that have been learned from 10 Years of the VGGT.
The training will be in English with simultaneous French translation.
