This event will explore how desertification, drought and land degradation, as well as access, use, and control of land, affect the enjoyment of various human rights, including, among other things, the rights to life, food, housing, water, and a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, as well as the rights of Indigenous Peoples to their traditional lands, territories and resources. It will articulate elements of a gender-responsive, equity-based and human rights-based approach to issues considered at the COP.
