World Soil Day

A global day calling attention to the importance of healthy soil and the sustainable management of soil resources

World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and advocating for the sustainable management of soil resources. WSD 2021 is organised around the themes 'halt soil salinisation, boost soil productivity.' It aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing the growing challenges in soil management, fighting soil salinisation, increasing soil awareness and encouraging governments, organisations, communities and individuals around the world to commit to proactively improving soil health. TMG is engaged in a number of projects relating to soil management and soil health, most significantly the Global Soil Week project.
