Ecosystem-based adaptation can help India address its hunger problem
TMG's work with partners in India cited as a source of hope following its recent fall on the Global Hunger Index
India slipping seven places on the Global Hunger Index over the last year is 'a matter of grave concern,' Arjuna Srinidhi writes in the CSR Mandate. Yet, he explains, ecosystem-based adaptation measures such as those developed in Maharashtra by TMG's partner the Watershed Organisation Trust (WOTR), have led to significant increases in agricultural incomes, increased water supply, and reduced distress migration. Srinidhi also describes the roadmap development process developed by WOTR and TMG from 2019 onwards, as well as celebrating the recent launch of the Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Resilient Incomes (ECOBARI) collective.
