The Soil Atlas 2024, created by Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung and TMG Think Tank for Sustainability, reveals the profound impacts of soil degradation. Industrial agriculture—reliant on monocultures and chemicals—has pushed biodiversity to the brink, with 86% of endangered species at risk due to these practices. Today, just 12 plants and five animals account for 75% of global food consumption, exposing the vulnerability of our food systems.
