With a focus on the relatively undeveloped, but pivotal international policy arena with respect to True Cost Accounting (TCA), this chapter explores a number of "fallacies" that lead to a failure to embrace externalities in the global food systems. Among other dangers of this "cheap food paradigm" the authors highlight the existence of multiple, insidious forms of visible and invisible flows of natural resources and externalities, across borders and continents.
