Dr. Jenny Lay-Kumar
Jenny Lay-Kumar is a post-doc researcher at the Chair of Forest and Environmental Policy at Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg (Germany). Her research field covers environmental sociology, communication and education. In her PhD, she analyses climate change concepts of young environmentalist groups, focusing on collective patterns of knowledge. Her PhD is based on a qualitative-explorative methodology, linking sociology of knowledge and practice theory. She also has experience qualitative research teaching and coaching. Jenny also does action research on social innovations, e.g. urban gardening, with a focus on how experience-based knowledge is gained and processed. In addition to that, she is also interested in communication on sustainable resource use, for instance in urban gardening and waste management projects.
