Joseph Muturi
Joe Muturi is a social activist and leader of Muungano wa Wanavijiji, the national association of slum dwellers in Kenya. The social movement has worked for over 20 years to oppose forced evictions and advocate for secure tenure for people in informal settlements. Since joining the Federation in 1998, Joseph has played a central role in negotiating and implementing projects to strengthen security of tenure and improve living conditions for urban poor communities in Kenya.
