Keith Cressman is one of the very few Desert Locust forecasters in the world, and is responsible for operating the FAO's global Desert Locust early warning system. He has over 30 years of experience in developing and operating monitoring and early warning systems for transboundary (migratory) plant pests on a national, regional and global level in Africa and Asia, including Desert Locust, Fall Armyworm and Red Palm Weevil. He is focused on using his expertise to address climate change and food security issues.
