Leonard Mizzi
Prior to taking up his post in the Directorate-General (DG) for International Partnerships in 2017, Dr Leonard Mizzi was Head of Unit in DG Agriculture and Rural Development, first in charge of agri trade and development issues (2007-2014) and from 2015-2016 leading relations with the European Parliament, Council and consultative bodies and well as steering the Civil Dialogue Groups. Before working at the European Commission, he had extensive experience in public administration and the private sector in Malta. His areas of specialization are governance, agriculture and food and nutrition security, the Mediterranean area, Sub Saharan Africa. He has been visiting lecturer at Boston University (Brussels campus), Open University and Malta University. He often lectures at the College of Europe in Bruges.
