Youba Sokona
Youba Sokona has over 35 years of experience addressing energy, environment and sustainable development in Africa. He has served in various capacities with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), including as Lead Author, Vice Chair, and Co-Chair of IPCC Working Group III on the mitigation of climate change for the Fifth Assessment Report. His previous leadership and management positions include Coordinator of the African Climate Policy Centre and Executive Secretary of the Sahara and the Sahel Observatory. He is Honorary Professor at University College London, Member of the Science Advisory Committee of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis and a Special Advisor to the African Energy Leaders Group.
