Darklane Rodrigues Dias
Darklane Rodrigues Dias is Undersecretary for Food and Nutritional Security of the city of Belo Horizonte, an area responsible for the management and intersectoral coordination of urban public food policy in a systemic perspective. She is a social worker and a postgraduate student in Public Policy and Legislation. From 2005 until her appointment as Undersecretary in 2017, Darklane served within the legislative and executive branches on the state level of government. She was advisor to the Secretariat for Labour and Social Development of the State of Minas Gerais, focusing on public policies for food and nutritional security and strengthening popular participation through public policy councils, as well as actions to foster the solidarity economy and family farming. She also held a position as a parliamentary advisor, when she supported the process of monitoring public policies on food and nutritional security (FNS), the participation and incidence of civil society in the public budget, the strengthening of indigenous organizations, and public policy actions for this population within Minas Gerais. In addition, she was responsible, among others, for the executive secretariat of the Parliamentary Front for the Defence of the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
