Caroline Peters
Caroline's journey began as a rape crisis volunteer in the early 90s, marking the start of her dedicated and enduring commitment to addressing gender-based violence. For more than three decades, she has tirelessly worked in the gender-based violence space, advocating for survivors, shaping legislation, providing sensitivity training to clinic staff supporting survivors of sexual violence, magistrates in the justice system, and participating in organizations focused on women's and children's well-being. In 2014, Caroline made history by founding the first women's-led running club in Cape Town, providing a beacon of hope and support for women in her community. Today, she serves as the Executive Director and founder of the Callas Foundation. In addition to her numerous leadership positions, Caroline also coordinates the FACT (Food Agency Cape Town) Kitchen Network.
